Lutterworth Cc work with Lutterworth College on new cricket match pitch

Notts Sport, the leading designer of artificial cricket facilities, has been working with Lutterworth Cricket Club and Lutterworth College to provide a second cricket facility for Lutterworth town.

The new pitch at Lutterworth College is the second sports facility the college has completed with Notts Sport. In 2021 Notts Sport designed an artificial hockey pitch opened by England Hockey & GB Player Sam Ward.

Keith McCray, Chairman of Lutterworth Cricket Club, said, "We are excited to be working with Lutterworth College to allow us to develop a permanent site for our second pitch; it's a perfect location, close to our club home on Coventry Road and still in the heart of the town. We're looking forward to many years of enjoying playing on the new pitch, enabling us to continue growing as a club. We are particularly grateful to Magna Park Lutterworth Area Community Fund and Harborough District Council (Section 106 funding), who have agreed to provide some funding to help develop this new facility."

Established in 1789, Lutterworth Cricket Club has England and Wales Cricket Board Clubmark accreditation. It has four senior sides playing in the Leicestershire & Rutland Cricket League and one of the most considerable junior sections in the County, with almost 200 junior members from ages 5-19 years. The club successfully gained funding to support this project, with the primary funding coming from the Magna Park Lutterworth Area Community Fund and Harborough District Council Section 106 funding.

Dominic Lane, Headteacher of Lutterworth College, said, "We were pleased to be approached by the Cricket Club about the usage of our site and are excited to work with them to develop a new cricket pitch. It will provide a fantastic facility for our students and the local community, so it is a great partnership. We're looking forward to working with the Cricket Club to develop a pathway to encourage our students and families to enjoy playing cricket."

Notts Sport has the ECB Code of Practice and approved systems for non-turf match pitches. With over 38 years of experience in the synthetic sports and play surfacing industry, it is the world's leading supplier of non-turf cricket pitch systems for coaching, practice, and match play.
