Indoor Cricket System Approved by ECB

We are delighted to announce our NottsGrass Ultra Indoor System has now been approved by the ECB.

Seeing an increase in enquiries for indoor cricket facilities back in 2020 initiated Notts Sports' research into the design of the ideal indoor cricket system. Determined to produce a first-rate system, Adam Walker, Technical Manager for Notts Sport, looked at the company’s ECB Approved cricket systems to see how they could be adapted to work indoors. After three years of in-house development and working with LaboSport, NottsGrass Ultra Indoor has now been awarded ECB approval.

The system design solved two main issues when providing a permanent indoor cricket facility, limb jarring and a realistic cricket performance. The NottsPad, laid over the concrete base, absorbs the impact on joints for the players and dampens erratic bounce.

Traditional artificial cricket turf could not withstand year-round intensive usage, resulting in resurfacing works. Notts Sports NottsGrass Ultra is a state-of-the-art monofilament yarn technology. The fibres, coupled with the high-density specification, are substantially more durable to long-term wear and tear.

Adam Walker, Technical Manager for Notts Sport, said, "It was an exciting opportunity for me to design a system for an area of business we have not yet been in before. In the past, we have struggled to attain this system, and therefore it was a challenge I was keen to accept for the indoor market. Now that the system has passed all test requirements and has been ECB approved, I am excited to see new high-quality installations up and down the country included in the Notts Sport service."
