The Jack Patrick Memorial Cup 2023

Notts Sport was proud to host the 6th charity cricket day in memory of the late Jack Patrick in collaboration with Help for Heroes, a charity supporting wounded veterans and their families.

The event, held on Friday, the 30th of July, honoured the memory of Jack Patrick, a passionate cricket enthusiast and keen supporter of Help for Heroes.

Hosted at Lutterworth Cricket Club, the tournament involved Notts Sport, Help for Heroes, a team of Jack's friends and Lutterworth Cricket Club. The day was filled with sportsmanship, camaraderie, and some spectacular cricket. Jack's Team was eventually awarded the prestigious JP Cup.

All proceeds from the event, including a raffle, auction, games stalls, food outlets and even a head shave of Jack's brother Will, were donated to Help for Heroes. Although 'rain did stop play' occasionally throughout the day, the good spirits of the Lutterworth community could not be dampened; they enjoyed a day of cricket, socialising and donating to charity, raising a staggering £8,000!

"We are deeply honoured to host this annual charity cricket day in memory of my son Jack," said Shaun Patrick, CEO of Notts Sport. "Jack's passion for cricket and dedication to supporting our veterans inspire us daily. The Lutterworth community astound us each year with their generosity; without them, the day would not be a success. By partnering with Help for Heroes, we hope to make a meaningful impact on the lives of those who have sacrificed so much for our country."

Help for Heroes is renowned for its relentless efforts to provide comprehensive support to wounded, injured, and sick service personnel and their families. The funds raised from the charity cricket day will contribute to various vital services, including physical and mental health support, career assistance, and welfare support.
