CELEBRATING our 40th year in the industry

As we celebrate our 40th anniversary in the sport and play surfacing industry this April, we at Notts Sport are proud to reflect on our cutting-edge surfaces and unwavering commitment to excellence.

Since our inception in 1984, we have continuously raised the bar in surfacing technology and catered to the needs of schools, clubs, and communities worldwide. Our journey began when we were established to market under licence surfacing technology developed by Nottinghamshire County Council. We purchased patents from the council and began cultivating that early technology through our research and development programme to transform artificial cricket facilities. Since then, we have become synonymous with innovation, quality, and durability in sport, cricket and play systems. Over the past 40 years, we have introduced groundbreaking solutions that have enhanced performance, safety, and sustainability across the disciplines.

From artificial turf systems for football, hockey, rugby, and cricket to multi-use games areas (MUGAs) and playgrounds, we have consistently pushed boundaries to deliver systems that meet the highest standards. Our relentless dedication to research and development has resulted in surfaces that not only replicate the playability of natural grass but also offer unparalleled durability, safety, and resilience.

"We are incredibly proud to reach this significant milestone in our journey," said Shaun Patrick, Notts Sport Chairman. "For 40 years, Notts Sport has been at the forefront of innovation, shaping the future of artificial surfaces. Not many organisations can claim to have installations at esteemed locations such as Lords Cricket Ground, Oundle School, and Central Park. Our commitment to excellence, sustainability, and customer satisfaction remains unwavering as we drive positive change in the sports industry."

We work with many national and international sporting bodies to ensure the development of sport and play opportunities for all in the UK and the rest of the world. We have been the only official facilities partner with England Hockey for over 12 years, accredited to the England and Wales Cricket Board, and a founding member of SAPCA; we have recently joined BASIS as part of the march towards sustainability in sport.

As we celebrate our 40th anniversary, we reaffirm our commitment to innovation and sustainability. We strive to create systems that optimise sporting performance and minimise environmental impact.

The ShockWave system is a game-changer in artificial turf systems, leading the shock pad market for sustainability. It ensures optimal performance, player safety, and durability while reducing capital costs and aggregates. We also installed a revolutionary pitch at Preston School in Yeovil, using PureGrain by Tarkett, a sustainable alternative to traditional rubber infills.

Furthermore, to mark this special occasion, each team member will participate in charity events to give back to the community that has supported us throughout our journey. 3 Peaks, Hyrox, The Big Golf Day Challenge, a Big Battlefield Bike Ride, and the 100-mile South Downs Way—our team is committed to making a positive impact and fostering a culture of giving back. As we mark this significant milestone, we thank our clients, partners, and employees for their unwavering support.

Here's to 40 years of Notts Sport - four decades of innovation and excellence. The journey continues, and the best is yet to come.
